Product story

The Lamina dining table, so named for the bladed profile of its components. Straight lines feature throughout this piece, with Clean prime grade British Oak, chamfered edges and bladed legs. The grading of the Oak gives the piece a Scandinavian feel, with consistent colouring across the boards, a straight grain pattern and less knots than the more wild varieties available.  The legs are available in a black or Copper finish.

Founded in 2015 by William Hibbert and Samuel Baker, Forest to Home started as two friends with a shared passion for craft, nature and sustainability. These days, we’re a much bigger business. This means bigger opportunities for our talented local craftspeople and a nurturing environment for younger people to hone their skills . However, some things remain constant. Whether we’re making beautiful furniture for an eco-conscious family, or realising the creative vision of world’s best known residential architects, our passion and core values remain the same.

In contrast to Character and Pippy grades of British Oak, Prime or first grade is defined by its uniformity and consistent grain. Selected during a grading process at the Sawmill, this grade of Oak contains a very small amount of knots, a low level of sap and a highly uniform colour across the boards.

With our in-house steel fabricators and access to a wide range of specialist metal finishers we can completely customise the size, finish and design of the metalwork that accompanies our pieces. Whether it’s adding a patina to the finish of a piece or incorporating precious metals such as Copper and Brass please contact us to find out more.
