During uncertain times, the need to consider our wellbeing whilst working is more important than ever before.
For many, working from home is set to be the new norm, and with that we will be introducing new pieces to our home office collection over the coming months. We are no strangers to the office environment, in-fact just recently we crafted desks to seat over 700 people for the new ‘Working from‘ office space. A space designed by Ennismore, within the new Hoxton Hotel in Southwark, central London.
The first of these pieces is our new ‘Calm’ desk. Smooth to the touch, and featuring gently tapered profiles all around, this piece is both a comfortable place to spend the day yet also extremely practical. And, as with all of our furniture, it can be completely customised to suit your needs. Be that by selecting the species of timber its crafted from, the choice of finish we apply to this, or the exact dimensions, we can ensure that this piece fits effortlessly into your home.
Timber is simply great for our wellbeing, and there’s plenty of research to prove it. Studies suggest children are more relaxed and perform better in timber classrooms, while workers immersed in wooden interiors seem to have lower stress levels. This is subject we cover regularly and is a huge driving force behind our design, material and finish choices. We recently wrote a piece that discusses timbers ability to help you create a happy home .
